Image Cytometry

VigiCell continually seeks to improve each component of its predictive toxicology platform via in-house development, co-development or acquisition.

VigiCell is a service provider: we never compete with our customers.

Plateforme The PathfinderTM Platform: an automated, multifunctional image cytometry platform.

The PathfinderTM platform combines:

  • a bright field/fluorescence microscopy imaging module with an entirely automated, motorized stage.
  • an automated slide/microplate handling and management system.
  • a dedicated software suite enabling the definition and monitoring of each parameter.

Matérial :

  • A fully motorized stage for sub-micron precision in all three dimensions (even during the autofocus process).
  • A high-precision slide handling system
  • A Slide Feeder Device module for totally automated supply and removal of slides and microplates stored in specific cassettes (40 slides or 4 microplates per cassettes, depending on the holder)
  • A bright field/fluorescence microscope with automated management of three fluorescence channels and the shutter, as well as RGB or white illumination
  • A high-definition camera whose output images can be blown up to the sensor's resolution limit

Software:

  • A dedicated software suite enables automated monitoring of all equipment and acquisition parameters (modalities, traceability etc.)
  • A specific, optimized application for each type of test
  • Slide-by-slide and surface-by-surface sample traceability
  • Multichannel imaging: several fluorescence channels possible for each field and systematic acquisition of bright-field images, according to the individual RGB components
  • Image processing with total control over the individual gamma, threshold and saturation parameters etc. for each modality
  • Totally automated and standardized protocols for the detection of events of interest (batch mode).
  • Multiple result tables for a given protocol

Examples of applications that we have developed or are in the process of developing:

  • genotoxicity: standardized Comet tests
  • cell counting in all types of culture media
  • genotoxicity: the micronucleus test
  • nucleus size, etc.
